Welcome to Year 5/6 LB
Hello and welcome to Year 5/6 LB. Mrs Bee and Miss Lee hope you all had a lovely half term break and look forward to another busy half term.
Our topic this half term is Food for Thought. The children will be learning about where our food comes from, the miles it travels and seasonal produce.
In English we will be reading the novel Ratburger by David Walliams.
Mathematics Our mathematics focus will be:
Swimming sessions for Year 5 have now ended. P.E. sessions will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The children will need to bring both indoor and outdoor kit as they will be working outside for some sessions.
Black shorts; plain white t-shirt; a sweatshirt (without a hood); tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
In Year 5/6 we feel homework is important as it prepares the children for secondary school. Homework tasks including spellings will be handed out on Monday to be returned on Friday.
As part of their homework children will be expected to read at home at least four times each week. In Year 5 and 6 it is not expected that they read aloud to an adult but if you know they have read at home, can we please ask that you sign their reading record.
