We hope you had a fantastic well-deserved Easter break and are now feeling refreshed and ready for the Summer term!
Before the holiday year three and four children looked at a range of artefacts and pictures linked to our new topic ‘Gods and Mortals’ which is all about Ancient Greece. The children came up with their own questions to investigate. We can’t wait to find out the answers to some of their exciting questions!
Our topic this half term is Gods and Mortals . This topic looks at the history of Ancient Greece and how the ancient Greeks created a way of life that the rest of the world copied.
English (Writing and Reading)
This half term we will be reading a Horrible Histories book ‘Groovy Greeks’ as well as a range of Greek myths and legends.
We will be learning about comic strips, fact files and creating our own mythical story.
This half term we will be focusing on fractions.
- Recognise and show, using diagrams, equivalent fractions with small denominators.
- Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator within one whole.
- Compare and order unit fractions, and fractions with the same denominators.
- Solve problems that involve all of the above.
We will continue to practice and learn our times tables this half term. Please practice your times tables at home.
By the end of Year 4, children should know all of their times tables.
Our PE sessions are on a Monday and Thursday. It is helpful if your child brings their PE kit on a Monday and takes it back home on a Friday.
Thank you for your continued support.
