Nessy is a computer based program which helps all students, of all abilities, to learn to read, write and spell. In particular, Nessy aims to help children who learn differently and provides a multisensory approach aimed at making reading, writing and spelling fun.  Children play a variety of games which include repetition of words so that children can begin to develop their fluency. This is completed independently, at the child’s own pace and the children see their success through moving through the different levels.

All children complete a short assessment prior to commencing the program so that the Nessy program can create personalised targets for the child which are tailored to their specific needs.

The children’s progress is reviewed regularly as their confidence in reading, writing and spelling increases.
